Vantage Review (2026)
Is Vantage a good MT4 broker? An in-depth, honest look at its RAW ECN and Standard accounts, real costs, platforms, regulation, and who it suits — with the trade-offs laid out plainly.
Vantage is a long-established, multi-regulated broker that leans into active and multi-asset trading: a $50 minimum, RAW ECN and Standard accounts on MetaTrader 4 and MT5, a well-regarded mobile app, and built-in copy trading. Operating since 2009 (originally as MXT Global, later Vantage FX), it reports more than 5 million clients and 1,000+ instruments across forex, indices, commodities, metals, shares and more. In this Vantage review we go past the marketing — the account types, what it really costs, the platforms, deposits and withdrawals, exactly which entity regulates you, and where it falls short — so you can decide if it fits. It's regulated across ASIC, FCA, FSCA.
This is an editorial review. Our score below is the weighted result of five transparent criteria — regulation & trust, costs, platforms, accessibility, and support & education — explained in full in our editorial policy. The figures in this review are Vantage's published figures as of 2026, web-verified against multiple independent sources; they vary by the Vantage entity that serves your country and can change, so always confirm current numbers and your entity's terms on Vantage's site before depositing.

Vantage account types compared
Vantage keeps its retail line-up tight. The Standard STP account is the simple, commission-free default — your cost is built into the spread. The RAW ECN account swaps that for a near-raw spread plus a commission, which works out cheaper for higher-volume traders. Both start from the same $50 minimum. The Pro ECN account lowers the commission further but gates entry behind a $10,000 deposit, so it's really for high-volume or professional clients. Swap-free (Islamic) versions of Standard and RAW are available on request.
| Account | Min deposit | Spreads | Commission | Lot size | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard STP | $50 | From ~0.0 pips (typ. ~1.2–1.3) | None (spread-only) | Standard (100,000 units) | Most traders; the simple, commission-free default |
| RAW ECN | $50 | Raw, near 0.0 (all-in ~0.72) | ~$3/side ($6 round-turn per lot) | Standard | Active traders/scalpers wanting raw spreads |
| Pro ECN | $10,000 | Raw, near 0.0 | ~$1.50–$3/side (lower than RAW) | Standard | High-volume/pro clients who can fund the floor |
Which Vantage entity onboards you is set by your country — and it determines both your leverage cap and your investor protections. UK clients via the FCA entity and Australian clients via the ASIC entity get tier-1 oversight; most international sign-ups are onboarded by an offshore entity instead (see Safety & regulation below). Confirm which entity your account agreement names before depositing.
Costs & fees
Vantage's headline pricing is competitive for active traders. The commission-free Standard STP spread is fine for casual trading, but the real value is the RAW ECN account: a near-raw spread plus ~$6 round-turn per lot lands an all-in cost around 0.72 pips on EUR/USD, in the same ballpark as dedicated raw-spread rivals. Add no inactivity fee and no Vantage-side funding charges, and the running costs are reasonable. Here's the full picture (Vantage's published figures as of 2026; confirm current values for your region):
| Cost | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Standard STP spread (EUR/USD) | From ~0.0 pips, no commission — published average nearer ~1.2–1.3 pips |
| RAW ECN spread + commission (EUR/USD) | Raw spread near 0.0 + ~$6 round-turn per lot — all-in ~0.72 pips |
| Pro ECN | Raw spread + lower commission (~$1.50–$3/side); $10,000 minimum to qualify |
| Overnight swap | Charged on positions held overnight; swap-free (Islamic) versions of Standard & RAW available, with an admin fee in place of swaps |
| Deposit fee | None from Vantage on cards, e-wallets, and bank transfer (your payment provider may charge) |
| Withdrawal fee | None from Vantage on standard methods; your bank or processor may add its own fee |
| Inactivity fee | None — Vantage does not charge a dormancy/inactivity fee |
One caveat on spreads: the "from 0.0 pips" figure on the Standard account is best-case. Published averages put the typical Standard EUR/USD spread nearer ~1.2–1.3 pips, so if cost matters, the RAW ECN account (all-in ~0.72 pips) is the one to compare against other brokers — not the Standard headline. Always check the live spread for the pairs you actually trade.
For a true read on cost, work out the all-in figure on your pairs: a Standard spread with no commission versus a RAW raw spread plus ~$6 round-turn. Our pip calculator and lot size calculator make that quick.
Platforms
Vantage gives you a genuinely wide platform line-up. You get the full MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 terminals on desktop, mobile and web, plus TradingView integration, the well-regarded Vantage app, the in-house ProTrader web platform (which unlocks a much broader instrument universe on a funded account), and built-in copy trading. That covers most trading styles — MT4 for its ecosystem of indicators and Expert Advisors, MT5 and ProTrader for multi-asset breadth, and the app for trading on the go.
The strong mobile experience and copy-trading layer are what set Vantage apart from MetaTrader-only brokers. If you specifically want a third-party platform like cTrader, that's the gap here — but for most traders the MT4/MT5 + TradingView + app combination is a real strength.
Deposits & withdrawals
Funding is straightforward and low-friction. Vantage supports bank wire transfer, credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller and AstroPay, plus options like Apple Pay and Google Pay and region-specific local methods. Card and e-wallet deposits are typically instant; bank wires take roughly 1–5 business days. Withdrawals go back to your original method, often within hours for cards and e-wallets. Vantage doesn't charge its own deposit or withdrawal fees on standard methods, though your bank or payment processor may add one. Available methods depend on your country, so check the cashier before you commit.
Safety & regulation
This is the part of any Vantage review worth reading slowly. Vantage operates through several entities — in our data ASIC, FCA, FSCA, alongside CIMA (Cayman Islands) and VFSC (Vanuatu) entities. The headline tier-1 licences are real: Vantage Global Prime LLP is FCA-authorised in the UK, and Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd is ASIC-authorised in Australia.
Tier-1 cover only applies if a tier-1 entity actually onboards you. In Vantage's case the FCA entity principally serves UK-site and institutional clients, and the ASIC entity serves Australia — most international retail sign-ups are onboarded by an offshore entity instead (CIMA in the Cayman Islands or VFSC in Vanuatu). Vantage's own disclosure states that international clients are not under the FCA and "will not have FCA's protection, such as Negative Balance Protection." So if you're a typical rest-of-world retail trader, judge Vantage on what that offshore entity actually provides — client-fund segregation and, as a stated policy, negative-balance protection — and treat FCA/ASIC compensation-scheme cover as applying only if that licensed entity is the one that onboards you. Confirm the entity named in your account agreement, then verify its licence on the regulator's own register.
None of this makes Vantage unsafe — segregation and negative-balance protection are meaningful, and the broker has a long, well-known track record. But the practical protections you get are set by your entity, not by the most impressive licence on the website. For the method, see our guide to checking a broker is regulated.
Support & education
Support is solid: Vantage offers 24/5 multi-channel support via live chat, email and phone, which covers most trading-hours questions well. Education is present — market analysis, an economic calendar, platform tutorials and webinars — but it's lighter and less beginner-oriented than education-led brokers such as XM or AvaTrade. Vantage clearly aims at traders who already know the basics and want capable platforms, not hand-holding. As always, treat any analysis as general information, not personalised advice.
How to open a Vantage account (and demo)
Setting up takes only a few minutes:
- 1. Check your entity. Vantage routes you to the entity for your country, which sets your account types, leverage cap, and protections — confirm which one before you sign up.
- 2. Register. Open a free demo to practise, or a live Standard STP / RAW ECN account from $50.
- 3. Verify your identity. Live accounts need ID and proof of address (standard KYC) — a quick, one-time step.
- 4. Fund it (or skip for a demo). Deposit by card, e-wallet, or bank transfer; a demo needs no deposit.
- 5. Download MT4 and log in. Use your account number, password, and the correct Vantage server — our Vantage MT4 download guide has the full walkthrough.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Competitive RAW ECN pricing — all-in ~0.72 pips on EUR/USD for active traders
- Multi-jurisdiction regulation (ASIC, FCA, FSCA) with a track record since 2009
- Strong mobile app and built-in copy trading — a genuine differentiator
- Wide platform choice: MT4, MT5, TradingView, the Vantage app and ProTrader
- 1,000+ instruments across forex, indices, commodities, shares and more
- No inactivity fee, and no Vantage-side deposit/withdrawal charges on standard methods
- Accessible $50 minimum on both entry accounts
Cons
- Not available to US residents
- Most international retail clients are onboarded by an offshore entity — not the FCA/ASIC tier-1 entity, so FCA/ASIC compensation cover may not apply to you
- Standard STP spreads aren't the tightest — the RAW account is the one to compare on cost
- Education is lighter than beginner-focused, education-led brokers
- No cTrader for traders who specifically want it
- Pro ECN's lowest commissions are gated behind a $10,000 minimum
Who Vantage is for
Choose Vantage if you're an active or intermediate trader who wants RAW ECN pricing, a strong mobile app, and copy trading in one place, with the flexibility of MT4, MT5 and TradingView and broad multi-asset access. The lack of an inactivity fee and the low $50 entry make it easy to keep an account ticking over, and the RAW account's all-in cost is competitive with dedicated raw-spread brokers.
Look elsewhere if you specifically need tier-1 (FCA/ASIC) client-money and compensation cover but your country would place you under an offshore entity, you want a deep, beginner-led education library, you need cTrader, or you're a US resident. If you're weighing Vantage against the wider field — especially the MT5-capable, multi-asset brokers it competes with most directly — start from our best MT5 brokers guide. For most active, mobile-first traders, though, Vantage is a capable, well-equipped all-rounder that earns its place on the shortlist.
Bottom line
Vantage is a capable, well-regulated, multi-asset broker that's clearly built for active and mobile-first traders: competitive RAW ECN pricing, a strong app, copy trading, a wide platform line-up, and no inactivity fee. The honest caveats are that the Standard account isn't the cheapest, education is on the lighter side, and — most importantly — the protections you actually receive depend on which (often offshore) entity onboards you, so confirm that before depositing. Get the entity question answered and Vantage stands up well: for traders who value raw spreads and a great mobile experience over hand-holding, it's a strong, well-rounded choice on MT4.

Frequently asked questions
Is Vantage a scam or is it legit?
Vantage is a legitimate, regulated broker — not a scam. It has operated since 2009, reports 5M+ clients, and is licensed across several jurisdictions: ASIC in Australia, the FCA in the UK, the FSCA in South Africa, CIMA in the Cayman Islands, and the VFSC in Vanuatu. You can verify those licences on each regulator's own public register. The 'scam' label really belongs to unregulated or fake brokers. Regulation is a baseline, not a guarantee of profit — trading is high-risk and most retail traders lose money. Important nuance: which entity (and which protections) you get depends on your country, so confirm yours before depositing.
Is Vantage regulated and safe, and do I get FCA/ASIC protection?
Vantage holds tier-1 licences (ASIC in Australia, FCA in the UK) plus the FSCA, CIMA and VFSC in our data — but here's the catch most reviews skip: the UK FCA entity (Vantage Global Prime LLP) serves institutional and UK-site clients, not international retail sign-ups, and ASIC's entity serves Australia. Vantage's own disclosure states that international clients are onboarded by an offshore entity and 'will not have FCA's protection, such as Negative Balance Protection.' So unless you're specifically onboarded by the FCA (UK) or ASIC (Australia) entity, you're under an offshore entity (e.g. CIMA Cayman or VFSC Vanuatu) — which provides client-fund segregation and, typically, negative-balance protection as a policy, but not the FCA/ASIC compensation scheme. Check which entity your account agreement names.
What are Vantage's account types and minimum deposit?
Vantage offers three main accounts. Standard STP and RAW ECN both start from a $50 minimum: Standard is commission-free with all-in cost built into the spread, while RAW ECN charges roughly $6 round-turn per lot on top of near-raw spreads — cheaper for active traders. The Pro ECN account lowers the commission further but requires a $10,000 minimum. Swap-free (Islamic) versions of Standard and RAW are available. These are Vantage's published figures as of 2026; confirm the current terms for your region on Vantage's site.
How much does it cost to trade with Vantage?
On the Standard STP account you pay no commission and a spread that, while quoted 'from 0.0', averages nearer ~1.2–1.3 pips on EUR/USD per published data. The RAW ECN account flips the model: a near-zero raw spread plus ~$6 round-turn commission per lot, for an all-in cost around 0.72 pips on EUR/USD — typically cheaper for higher-volume traders. There's no Vantage deposit or withdrawal fee on standard methods and, notably, no inactivity fee. These are published figures; confirm the current numbers for your account.
Which platforms does Vantage support?
Vantage supports MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and TradingView, plus its own Vantage mobile app, the ProTrader web platform (broader instrument access on a $200+ funded account), and built-in copy trading. MT4 remains the workhorse for its huge ecosystem of indicators and Expert Advisors; the strong mobile app and copy trading are what set Vantage apart for many users.
Does Vantage accept US clients?
No. Vantage does not accept residents of the United States. US traders need an NFA/CFTC-regulated broker such as OANDA, tastyfx, or Forex.com.
Is Vantage good for mobile trading and copy trading?
Yes — a well-regarded mobile app and integrated copy trading are two of Vantage's stronger cards, which makes it a good fit for traders who manage positions on the go or want to follow other strategies. Test both on a free demo before committing real funds, and remember that copy trading carries the same market risk as trading yourself.
Does Vantage offer MetaTrader 4?
Yes. Vantage offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 across desktop, mobile, and web, plus TradingView and its own app. See our Vantage MT4 download guide to get set up, then log in with your account number, password, and the correct Vantage server.
