MT4 one-click trading places a market order the instant you click Buy or Sell — at the current price, with no confirmation dialog. You set a default volume once, and every order fires in a single click. That speed makes it popular for scalping, but it also removes a safety step, so it's worth setting up carefully. Stop loss and take profit are added after the order opens, not at the click.
How to enable one-click trading in MT4
There are two ways to turn it on. The first sets the behaviour platform-wide; the second is the panel you actually click from.
-
Open the trade settings
In MT4, click
Tools ▸ Options ▸ Tradetab. -
Tick One Click Trading
Check the One Click Trading box and accept the disclaimer that appears, then click
OK. -
Open the chart panel
Click the small arrow (triangle) at the top-left of the chart to expand the one-click panel with Buy and Sell buttons and a volume box. [screenshot: one-click panel expanded at top-left of chart]
-
Set your volume
Type the lot size into the volume box. This becomes the default size for every one-click order, so double-check it.
-
Click Buy or Sell
Click Buy or Sell to send a market order instantly at the current price — there is no confirmation dialog. Add a stop loss and take profit afterwards.
Prefer the standard order ticket with a confirmation step? Use the standard New Order dialog instead — that method shows a confirmation window and lets you set stop loss and take profit before the order is sent.
How to place a one-click order
- Check the volume first — the number in the volume box is the lot size for the order. It stays as your default until you change it, so confirm it before every click.
- Buy = market buy, Sell = market sell — the order is filled instantly at the current price shown on the buttons. There is no order ticket to review.
- Add SL/TP afterwards — the panel can't attach a stop loss or take profit. Once the position is open, right-click it in
Terminal ▸ Tradeand choose Modify or Delete Order to set them. See how to set a stop loss and take profit.
Risks to manage
Because one-click trading skips the confirmation dialog, a mis-click or a leftover default volume sends a real market order instantly — there's no "are you sure?" to catch it. Double-check the volume box before every click, keep your default lot size small, and add a stop loss right after each entry. Fast styles like scalping magnify this: more clicks means more chances to fire a wrong order, and they don't make trading any less risky. Practise on a demo account first. Nothing here is financial advice, and most retail traders lose money.

Frequently asked questions
What is one-click trading in MT4?
One-click trading is an MT4 mode that sends a market order instantly when you click Buy or Sell — at the current price, with no confirmation dialog. You set a default volume in advance and orders fire in a single click, which is why it's popular for fast styles like scalping. Stop loss and take profit are added after the order opens.
How do I turn on one-click trading in MT4?
Click Tools ▸ Options ▸ Trade, tick the One Click Trading box, and accept the disclaimer. You can also expand the panel directly by clicking the small arrow (triangle) at the top-left of any chart, which shows Buy and Sell buttons with a volume box.
Does one-click trading skip the confirmation window?
Yes. That is the whole point — clicking Buy or Sell places the market order immediately with no order ticket or confirmation step. It's fast, but it also means a mis-click or wrong volume sends a real order, so always check the volume box before you click.
Can I set a stop loss with one-click trading?
Not at the moment of the click. The one-click panel only sends the market order at the current price; it does not include stop loss or take profit fields. To attach them, open the position after it fills — right-click it in the Terminal ▸ Trade tab and choose Modify — or use the standard New Order dialog instead.
Is one-click trading safe for beginners?
It removes a safety step, so treat it with care. With no confirmation dialog, an accidental click or a leftover default volume sends a live order instantly. Practise on a demo first, keep the default volume small, and add a stop loss right after each entry. Trading is high-risk and most retail traders lose money — this is general information, not financial advice.
